Join Jacek Robótka of Jorgen Craft for an engaging half-day workshop that introduces you to the essentials of blacksmithing and hand forging. In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn the techniques needed to craft your own bottle opener from scratch, guided by an expert bladesmith.
What You’ll Learn:
In this hands-on session, you will:
- Understand forge safety basics
- Master fire control and hand hammering techniques
- Work with a gas forge, hammer, and anvil
- Shape carbon steel to forge your bottle opener
- Create a handle and a hanging loop
- Grind the edges, stamp your initials, and finish with a protective blackened coat
No Experience Required:
Jacek will guide you through every step of the process, making it accessible to complete beginners. By the end of the workshop, you’ll take home a custom-made bottle opener and a new appreciation for the craft of blacksmithing.
Course Details:
- Open to: Participants aged 18+ (younger attendees welcome with a parent/guardian).
- What to Bring: Non-flammable clothing (cotton or wool preferred) and sturdy shoes (leather recommended). Safety gear will be provided, but please avoid synthetic fabrics like shell suits or fleeces.
