I use this sharp, pointed tool to pierce stitching holes and for intricate detail work. It’s like a pencil for leather—guiding where thread and technique will meet. 🔹 Groover This tool carves a narrow groove along stitching lines, ensuring that stitches lay flush and evenly across the surface. It adds a subtle, professional touch to any piece. 🔹 Edge Beveler Raw leather edges can be harsh and uneven. The edge beveler smooths and rounds them off, making the finish feel refined and soft to the touch. 🔹 Hole Punches From belts to bags, clean and accurate holes are essential. With a variety of sizes, hole punches give me the flexibility and precision needed for different types of hardware and designs. 🔹 Stitching Punches Even stitch spacing is key to durability and appearance. Stitching punches create perfect pathways for needle and thread, helping stitches look clean and consistent. 🔹 Strap Cutter Whether I’m making belts, bag handles, or custom accents, the strap cutter helps me slice leather strips with consistent width and clean edges—quickly and efficiently. 🔹 Lace Cutter For decorative touches or functional lacing, this cutter allows me to create leather laces in custom widths from the same hide I'm working with—keeping every piece unique and cohesive.     Every tool in my workshop plays a role in transforming raw material into something functional, beautiful, and built to last. Steel Stock & Specialty Metals – From carbon steel to speciality alloys, we stock high-quality materials for whatever the project demands. Quenching Buckets – Steel takes its final form here, cooled quickly in oil or water to lock in strength and durability. Forging Tools, Forging Legacy. When it comes to carrying a knife in the field, functionality, durability, and ease of access are key. That’s why I recently took on the challenge of creating a custom Kydex sheath for hunting and skinning knife. The goal was simple: to make a sheath that not only protects the blade but also ensures it's securely carried and quickly accessible when needed. Here’s how that project turned into a sleek, practical accessory perfect for the outdoors. Kydex is ideal for this type of project because it's lightweight yet incredibly strong. Unlike leather, it won’t wear out from moisture or heavy use, and it can be molded to fit the exact shape of the knife. This made it the perfect material to create something durable that would stand up to the rigors of fieldwork. For this project, I chose 1.5mm thick black Kydex for the main sheath, providing a balance between flexibility and sturdiness. The color was an obvious choice—it has a clean, sleek look that pairs well with the knife’s modern aesthetic. Additionally, I used a sturdier 2mm thick Kydex for the belt loop attachment to ensure that the sheath would be held securely on a belt during movement, without compromising comfort. The process itself felt like a blend of art and engineering. Working with Kydex is all about precision—you have to make sure everything lines up perfectly for a snug fit. I carefully cut the material to match the contours of the knife, taking into account the subtle details of the blade and handle. It wasn’t just about wrapping it in plastic; it was about creating something that enhances the knife's usability while protecting the edge. Once I had the material shaped and molded, it was all about refining the details. The edges needed to be smooth, not just for aesthetics, but to make sure there was nothing rough that could snag on gear or clothing. After the trimming and sanding, the sheath started to take on its final form—a compact, robust protector for the blade that looked and felt professional. The final touch was adding the Kydex belt loop, designed to keep the sheath securely fastened to a belt during hunts. It’s one of the most important elements of the design, as it ensures the sheath stays exactly where I need it, even when moving through rough terrain. The end result of the project is a sleek, functional sheath that not only looks sharp but performs exceptionally well in the field. The retention is just right—the knife clicks into place, ensuring it won’t fall out even if I’m on the move. At the same time, drawing the knife is smooth and effortless, thanks to the precise molding around the handle.
